Sillarta

Brand name and logo design for Sillarta

The Challenge

Thangamaligai is a renowned store in Coimbatore that sells silver articles. In a move to reach out to a target group that desired high quality artistic silver items, Thangamaligai opened a new store in Coimbatore. The new store, that was yet to be named, was expected to be a blend of traditional Silver articles and contemporary accessories. The name and identity needed to convey this evolved dimension of the brand.

The Solution

After several rounds of discussions, brain storming, customer reviews and analysis, we developed the name “SILLARTA”, by combining the words Silver and Artistry. It was simple, easy to understand and pronounce.

Once the name was finalized, we had to develop an appropriate logo for the same. While working closely with the client, we understood that customers bought silver as a symbol of prestige, it was also an important part of their religious customs and most silver articles stayed with one’s family for generations.

The logo needed to look contemporary but still be traditional at heart. The concept of Ashta Lakshmi that represents the eight forms of the goddess Lakshmi, was used in designing the brand logo. It was important that the logo be engraved on all products. So we developed a symbolic representation of the eight forms of Goddess Lakshmi inspired from the religious scriptures. After several rounds of iterations, we crafted the perfect identity that could be executed across all media types.
